7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted immediately, except for the records listed below.

  • Moderation records: if your account was warned, muted or banned, we keep the record of that action so that it can be enforced and reviewed.
  • Ban-check code: if your account was banned, we keep a one-way scrambled code (a hash) made from your email address. It cannot be turned back into your email address. It only lets us recognise a banned person who tries to sign up again.
  • Deletion record: we keep a record that an account was deleted, when, and which clean-up steps finished, so that we can show the deletion was carried out. It does not contain your profile or your messages.
  • Payment records: if you paid us, Stripe keeps its own payment and invoice records as financial law requires. We cancel any active subscription when you delete your account.
  • Messages you sent:messages you sent to other people may remain visible to them. They are shown as “Deleted User” and are no longer linked to you.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, you have the right to:

  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure:Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
